Steel is the most recycled
material in North America. About 68% of all steel is recycled from
automobiles, cans, appliances and other steel products

Steel has a high strength-to-weight ratio when compared to wood. To achieve the same strength as
a wood member steel will weigh much less.
Consistent quality of steel is
much better than wood and engineering values are readily available
throughout the world.
Multi story structures are
constructed throughout the world with steel because it is the
strongest, most flexible, most economical building materials
available today.
With steel, there is
little waste. If the project calls for 40-foot structural steel members
you order 40 foot members.
Steel is
not a new construction material and has been used in residential
construction for years, but generally it is specified only when strength and size was at
issue in certain situations.
